BBQ Season

It's that time of the year. I've got BBQ on the brain. Granted, I have BBQ on the brain year-round, but with Memorial Day comes Summer and time to *really* get serious about BBQ.

There is a great article on CNN.com all about what makes BBQ great. My favorite part is the description from a guy who was raised in Paris, Texas:
My granddad said two things about barbecue.... If you have to have teeth to eat it, it's not right. And if you have to put sauce on it, it's not right.
I need that on a T-shirt, and when I finally open my own joint, I want that carved on a giant plaque somewhere on the wall.

The restaurant will have to wait, but I will be catering for a wedding and one or two parties this summer. (And if you would like me to do one for you, just give me a holler.) In preparation, I've been filling out my repertoire to include all the necessary side dishes. As a result, the family has been forced to help me dispose of charro beans, throwed rolls, lime basmati rice, banana pudding and hot fudge sundae cake over the last few weeks. They tell me that it's been a tremendous sacrifice, and won't I please throw a few more rolls at them.

For those of you waiting for your invitations to this year's 4th of July, you should see them next week. We're doing evites like last year. If you don't get one, email us to get yourself added to the list.
