Orchestra Concert

Spencer had his first orchestra concert this week.

It was a crazy day. They had a rehearsal during the day and I was "fortunate?" to be able to be a helper on that trip. Disorganization was a rule for the morning but we all returned somewhat sane. It was a little crazy to take 100 people or so to McDonald's for lunch but the kids thought it was cool.

It was a good thing they had the rehearsal because they needed it to get all of the students playing together. There was BIG difference between the afternoon practice and the evening performance. It was a district wide concert so everyone from 5th to 12th grade. It was interesting to hear all of the students as the ability level increased throughout the night.

Here are a couple more photos.

The 5th and 6th graders were given tie dye shirts and were told to wear dark pants. Not all managed to do that and Spencer is on the far right, outside edge. He is probably not the only cellists wearing white socks. But, ugh! That detail escaped Nate and I before leaving the house.

The Junior High students were wearing white tops. And the High School wore the coordinated black concert attire. A lot fancier than when I was in the high school orchestra.

Wow, that's neat! What a huge group. I hope we get to hear him play sometime.
